EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Laycon was raised in Lagos, Nigeria, he was born on the 8th of November, 1993 and hails from a modest background. He hails from Baluwen, Odeda, Ogun state Western Nigeria. He had a passion for music from a young age and was heavily influenced by iconic Nigerian artists like Olamide and Vector. Laycon's exceptional talents paved the way for his involvement in various local rap battles and music competitions during his formative years.
Laycon attended Lagos State Model College Merian, Lagos for his secondary School education. He attended the University of Lagos (Unilag), where he pursued a degree in Philosophy, he graduated with second class upper in philosophy. Throughout his academic journey, Laycon actively honed his music skills while simultaneously exploring his passion for writing and poetry. He developed a heart for rapping/Hip Hop and has always wanted to be known as a hip hop Artiste. His rise to fame came after being part and winning the 2020 season of the Bbnaija Reality Tv show. THE BBNAIJA BREAKTHROUGH
Laycon's big break came in 2020 when he decided to participate in the fifth season of Big Brother Naija, one of Africa's most popular reality TV shows. From the moment he stepped into the BBNaija house, his magnetic personality and artistic flair made him an instant hit among viewers.
He quickly gained popularity for his unique blend of talent, intelligence, and humility. As a rapper, Laycon's lyrical prowess was evident in the freestyle sessions, and his emotional depth came through during heart-to-heart conversations with fellow housemates.

Laycon however, started his music career, way back but got the spotlight after winning the Bbnaija Reality Tv show 2020 season. In 2014, Laycon was among the 10 Artistes that participated at the 2014 Coke studio competition at the University of Lagos State, during his University days. He was and participated in other Music performing events and shows.
However, Laycon took his music career serious or will e day started off officially in 2019, after signing A Record deal with Fierce Nation Records. On the 21st of February, 2019, he released a track titled Fierce featuring Chinko Ekun and Reminisce. He became more popular after winning the 2020 season of the Bbnaija Reality Tv show and featuring in DJ Neptune's iCONS remix of Nobody. He was also featured in remix of Baba Fela by Mr Real (Mr Legbebe), in same year.
Laycon went on to release other Songs and Albums/EPs such as Wagwan, Hip Hop, fall for me and many more. On the 28th of December, 2021, he headlined his first concert titled iCONS FEST at the Eko Convention centre, Eko Hotels Lagos, selling out the 6,000 capacity centre.

Laycon and Erica were both housemates in the 2020 Bbnaija season. They both started off as close buddies during the Bbnaija lockdown edition. However, they had a fall out and became enemies. The duo reconciled later on though.
