Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly known by his stage name Mohbad (also known as Oba Imole), was a Nigerian Afrobeat singer, rapper, songwriter, stage performer. Sadly, Mohbad passed away on the 12th of September, 2023. More post content below.



     Mohbad was born in Lagos, Nigeria on the 8th of June, 1996. He grew up living in Lagos state. Mohbad had his primary and secondary school education in Lagos state. There is no detailed info on his primary and secondary school education, neither his tertiary education (if at all he had). This post will be updated as info roll in.


    According to sources, Mohbad loved music from a young age. He usually makes freestyles of his songs and post them on his social media handles (just like Zinoleesky and Lil Frosh).

    He became well noticed after he did the cover of Kizz Daniel's song, F*ck you. He became popular after that and kickstarted his music career full time in 2016, but didn't get that wide audience or mainstream attention until he got noticed by Naira Marley and was signed into Marlians Music Record label in 2019.

    He released his debut EP containing 7 tracks on the 17th of November, 2020. The EP was titled Light. Mohbad got more popular after featuring in music producer Rexxie's hit Song, Ko Po Ke (KPK), he was also in the remix of the song with South Africa's Sho Madjozi. He has collaborated with other artistes like Terry's song Money alongside Bella Shmurda. He has songs of his own too which are hits in the Nigerian Streets.

      Mohbad has one EP titled Light which has 7 tracks and was released under Marlians Music Record label in 2020.


    Mohbad is said to have an estimated net worth of about $30,000-$40,000. No info is available on his cars or mansions as of now. The post will be updated with time.

Sadly, on the 12th of September, 2023, Mohbad passed away after a brief illness. The cause of death wasn't known as at the time of writing and updating this report. More info to come.



     On the 5th of September, 2022, Mohbad alleged that he was assaulted by members of his record label, Marlians Music for requesting to change his manager.

     In a viral tweet attached with a video clip, Mohbad could be seen with a bruise on his shoulder, and a voice could be heard in the video's background stating that Mohbad was overpowered and abused in the sight of Naira Marley (Marlians Music Owner) and he didn't interfere or help out.

     Mohbad later released a diss track aimed at Naira Marley titled Tiff. This incident made Mohbad to leave the Record label. However, we don't know which label he is currently signed into.

     Again, in February of 2022, Mohbad and record label colleague Zinoleesky were arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for illegal possession of hard drugs.

– According to info, Mohbad's Father is a pastor and he also has a church.

– His previous stage name was 2Black.

– He got his Mohbad stage name after a producer tols him he was bad (as in good) with lyrics and songs. 

– Mohbad coined his name into a different meaning because he was afraid of his pastor dad hearing people calling him the name. Mohbad can be said to be an acronym of M-Moh, B-Bright, A-And, D-Destined. Giving us Moh Bright And Destined which can be interpreted in English as I'm bright and destined. 


    Mohbad sings Afro POP using both the English and Yoruba language. He is popular for having that street song kind of vibes and he is one of the best when it comes to street afro pop.

    Mohbad is a very talented musician, the fact that he sings street songs make him more outstanding (I mean street songs do well in naija). We hope he gives us more hits as time goes. Sadly, he passed Away, just too soon.
