EARLY LIFE
Akanbi Bamidele Brett also known as Cheque was born on the 23rd of March, 1995 (28 years) and hails from Okitipupa, Ondo state, Nigeria. He was born in Okitipupa his hometown, but grew up in Ondo Town, Ondo state, Nigeria.
Cheque had his primary school education in the town he grew up in Ondo state, Nigeria. He had his Tertiary institution education at the Obefemi Awolowo University (OAU) where he studied Chemical Engineering. He later relocated to Lagos to pursue his music career (Truly, Lagos is Music). We now Go straight to his Journey as a singer.
MUSIC CAREER
According to sources, Superboy Cheque started music when he was in school (OAU) in 2015 (hmmm plenty artiste start from school, lesson: no wait till u finish school). Let's continue.
At first, his stage name was Kyle B and he intended to become a Gospel Hip Hop artiste but changed ideas later. He attended school with the likes of Fireboy DML (his close friend and industry colleague), Blaqbonez and other Top artist who attended OAU at his time.
Cheque did a couple of works which included Rap competitions, singles, EPs, and collaborations with other upcoming artiste before gaining the spotlight. This post however, focuses on his current works.
Cheque and fireboy DML were both under a particular record label before their contract expired. They later got signed into various record labels, Cheque (Penthauze) and Fireboy DML (YBNL). This post is not about the two friends but for info sake.
In February 2019, Cheque was discovered by Phyno and got him signed into his record label known as Penthauze (a stylized way of saying paint house).
Cheque's breakthrough in music came about when he released his hit track Zoom, a song from his Razor EP (his first work under Penthauze). The song Zoom became an instant hit and topped charts back then. He also did a remix with popular singer, Davido.
Cheque did a couple of other songs with collaborations from his colleagues like History ft fireboy DML, LOML (Love Of My Life) ft Olamide, Baby, Dangerous ft Ayra starr and other songs. He later released his Debut studio Album, Bravo on the 24th of September, 2021.
Cheque is not backing down in music anytime soon and we hope to see more of him in the industry as time goes by.

AWARDS
Cheque was nominated and won the Best Duo African Hip Hop Awards category at the 2021 All African Music Awards (AAFRIMA), alongside Fireboy DML (since its a Duo category and Fireboy DML was featured on the song.

Cheque is said to have an estimated net worth of about $20K-30K dollars. Aswr if blogging no pay, ah go enter music. Not much is known about his properties though, for now. The post will be updated as more info come in.
GENRES
Cheque uses a mix of Afrobeat and Rap in his songs. He doesn't rap that fast or will I say he is a trapper. But, the dude does have a talent. Let's just say he is an Afrobeat singer, nothing like Afro Hip Hop in him. No shades.
