SIMMY BIOGRAPHY
EARLY LIFE
Simmy was born on the 9th Of July, 1994 in Tugela, KwaZulu-Natal Area of South Africa. Growing up, Simmy stated that she was brought up in a home of strick parents, which helped shaped her life in some aspects.
For her Education, Simmy attended the University Of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in South Africa where she bagged herself a degree in Social Science. At the moment, we don't have info regarding Simmy's family background yet, more updates to be added soon.
MUSIC CAREER
Simmy started her Music Career shortly after graduating from the University. She relocated to Johannesburg in 2016 to kick start her Music Career. In 2017, Simmy got herself a Record Label deal with Popular South African Record Label, EL World Music.
Under EL World Music, Simmy released her debut studio Album on the 26th of October, 2018 titled, "Tugela Fairy" which is titled after her place of origin. The Album spawned a number of Achievements for Simmy such as Recording Industry Of South Africa (RiSA) Gold certification for her Song "Ubala". The Album as a whole also got a Gold certification and the single "Umahlalela" got a Platinum certification plaque. Her debut Album Tugela Fairy, brought her Nation Wide Recognition and shown more light on her career.
On the 9th of November, 2020, Simmy released her second studio Album titled "Tugela Fairy (Made Of Stars)". The Album made a number 3 debut on Apple Music chart at it's release. The Album also spawned a number of Award nominations and wins for Simmy. In 2021, Popular Music Duo, Mafikizolo featured Simmy on the track, "Mamezale" alongside Sun-El Musician and Kenza.
So far so good, Simmy has achieved some feets and Recognitions in the South African Music scene. She combines genres of Afro-House, Neo-Soul and Neo Folks to make her sweet melodies. Simmy cites the likes of Dolly Patton, Brenda Fassie and more as her role model and inspiration in Music and yes, Simmy is a fan of Country Music.
